| Brooklyn (Len) Kliewer joined our staff in March of 2009. He is also a counsellor at Cares in Abbotsford. He holds a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from the Adlerian Institute of Professional Psychology, (Vancouver Campus) and completed his Bachelors Degree at UCFV, focusing on psychology, philosophy and sociology. Brooklyn is also a registered member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. Brooklyn has many years of counselling experience with relationships, marriage, family and individuals, directing the clinical focus from intake to discharge with a variety of clinical modalities. He has worked extensively with clients experiencing trauma, stress, anxiety, pain and loss. His purpose as a therapist is to empower his clients to define and accomplish their goals. With new insight, clients leave with hope and optimism. Brooklyn is a compassionate and skilled communicator with a counselling perspective that acknowledges family influence on development, while valuing the individuality of clients. He works to help clients maintain a positive focus on their strengths and assets, encouraging realistic changes. Brooklyn comes highly recommended by members of the psychological community in Abbotsford and we are pleased to have him as a member of our counselling team. |
Len Pauls: Research shows that the relationship and connection between the client and counsellor is the greatest predictor of results. Len Pauls is known and respected in the community as a counsellor who provides that connection He is a caring, compassionate and skilled counsellor.
Len has been a therapist with Chilliwack Counselling Centre since 2002. He holds a Masters degree in Counselling (M.C.) from Trinity Western University, completed an undergraduate degree in Theology, and is a registered member with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. Len works extensively with adolescents, teens and their families, and is an experienced relationship/ marriage and individual counsellor. He is married with three children and understands the pressures put on families and couples today. Len has worked for several years with challenging adolescents and their families in the foster system and uses this experience for insight into his counselling process with clients. Len also works within the Mental Health system, counselling individuals who have received a dual-diagnosis of both substance abuse and a mental health disorder. Len is skilled at helping clients devise practical strategies to overcome barriers and guiding them to achievable changes; using various methods, tools and resources to accomplish their goals. Chilliwack Counselling Centre is pleased to have him as our senior counselling therapist. |
Lois Loewen is the newest member of our team. She graduated with a Master in Counselling from Trinity Western University in 1998, achieved two Bachelors degrees in previous years, as well as a teaching certificate and is a registered member of the BCACC. Lois has worked at Cares in Abbotsford for many years and is considered a valuable asset to their Centre. Lois has a passion for working with married couples, and a heart for families dealing with special needs issues. She has had many years of experience helping individuals work through anxiety, depression, anger, burnout, grief and loss. To Lois this is not a job. Her heart for people compels her to use her gifts and skills, and she delights in helping individuals find their way through lifes difficult challenges. She uses various clinical modalities in her counselling, insightfully applying the appropriate methods to each clients situation. Lois is well known and loved in the Community and we are thankful to have her as part of our counselling staff. |
